Max Taves is a senior writer and brand strategist. He is a former venture capital and technology columnist for CBS Interactive's CNET.com and a commercial real estate columnist for The Wall Street Journal. He is the winner of three professional journalism awards, including first place for Best Business reporting on Silicon Valley from the California Newspaper Publishers Association in 2014 and Best News Story from the Foundation for Biomedical Research in 2009. His work has been published by Slate; featured on Drudge and Curbed; referenced by the Reason Foundation; written about by NPR affiliates KPCC and KQED, the Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post; and translated by The Wall Street Journal into Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish and German. He studied economics and econometrics at Georgetown University and politics at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
